Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Hi there,
My name is Johan and I am from the Netherlands. I’m looking for someone that would like to sail with me. My plans are to sail wherever the wind takes us over the next years.
At this moment I live on my boat in Amsterdam, I have two adult kids who are both independent and living on their own, my daughter lives in Vancouver, Canada and my son lives in Friesland, The Netherlands.
I consider myself a man with an alert mind, honest, sincere, responsible and adventurous with a great desire to share and learn.
I enjoy exploring and learning new things, I´m open minded and wide open to all sorts of cultures. I love meeting and learning from new people and I believe sharing and fairness are central to the good life.

I like reading, cooking, swimming, diving, climbing, running, yoga, meditation, exploring new places and being active, but I also enjoy relaxing and having a good conversation.
I would like to find the right person to share all the adventures with.
Sometimes I sail alone, but it is of course much nicer with good company.

I would like to find an adventurous female around the age 40-58 interested in this lifestyle and is someone who also enjoys cooking.
I am not specifically looking for romance but if it arises I am not opposed, respect and trustworthiness is the most important thing.

We prefer to live cheaply and enjoy eating what we find available. We like trying new things, finding interesting solutions and making what we can ourselves. It's about the people, the places, and the adventure; we like to 'take part' and immerse ourselves in new experiences and have a lot of fun.
My plan (it’s not a fixed plan) is to travel first in Europe. Go to Norway and Sweden then North/east England and through the Caledonian Canal from Scotland to Ireland. Afterwards we will go down to France or Spain/Portugal and then we’ll see. Either we will sail the Mediterranean Sea or cross the Ocean.
This is not a fixed plan, being free adults we can venture off in almost any direction. With the right crewmate our options could be unlimited.
My first and primary concern is the safety of the crew and my vessel, my second is that we enjoy ourselves and my third is that we travel to places we like to go.
One of my favourite things is to be part of making dreams come true. I am open and happy to discuss all sorts of ideas with potential partners and crew. Dreamers (preferably still anchored in something like reality) and original creative thinkers can be great.
Boats and the sea are a way to connect, and "interpersonal" stuff can be the best of it.
My boat is of traditional design, full keel, Sea friendly and well equipped. I've been upgrading for the last two years and many systems are brand new, including a new navigation system.

Enjoying the sunset with good wine and good conversation.

I am seeking female crew / partner to sail and live aboard.
I prefer to meet someone who would be open to long-term, but I am not stuck on that, I'm open.
Good attitude and flexibility are important. Educated and cultured would not hurt, but attitude, sensitivity, and connection with the physical and inner worlds are also important.

Originality and a fun attitude are appreciated.
Lots of sailing experience is not necessary, but some would be nice. During longer passages you will have to stand watches (look out for other ships and call whenever any doubt).
There is no race or hurry. We will enjoy sailing, diving, enjoying easy anchorage and hiking on mainland and the islands in a relaxed atmosphere.
Participating in the boat chores goes together with all the pleasures of sailing and enjoying the remote anchorages and fun activities.
Food, fuel costs, immigration and custom fees to be shared in some measure, but I like being considerate and flexible, with a communal attitude to costs and such when reasonable.
P.S. I also have the best Canadian son in law
