Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Spring of 2025 I plan on cruising the Great Lakes in a very laid back recreational mode with most nights anchored out and lots of sightseeing. I'm not planning on any night crossings unless the weather is too good to pass up. The goal will be to have fun, enjoy the boat and take in the sights and activities along the way.

Starting in Lake Michigan, I'll be making my way to the East Coast, so there will be a wide variety of experiences to be had. I'm not planning on any schedule restrictions so day sails and visiting islands will definitely be among the possibilities. I don't need experienced crew to run the boat, but rather I am offering to share the experience with interested parties who will participate in boat operations and add to the fun. The opportunity to learn will definitely be present. Experience is a plus but not a requirement.

A flexible schedule is important as well as some creativity in getting to and from the boat if a only a portion of the trip is possible for you. Whatever is decided on has to be good for everyone, so plan on some negotiation and consideration. Safety will be the top priority above all else.

Anyone willing to help commission the boat prior to launch will be given priority. There is always a lot to do and while none of it is hard having extra hands makes it easier and go faster.

I can always teach the sailing skills to someone willing to listen and learn but I can't do much with a bad attitude. Sailing always involves challenges and setbacks like weather. It takes a positive outlook and a willingness to roll with the punches to be good crew. I also know that sometimes you need to fake a cheery attitude for the sake of others! The willingness to do so means everything. Sailing is a team effort.
