I have been a pilot most of my life, so it was an easy transition into sailing after early retirement in 2002' I sold my airplane, went to sailing school, bought a boat, and spent the next four winters in the Bahamas. In 2017 I bought an Ocean crossing boat - an Amel 53. She's been around the world twice and, with the right crew maybe it could be three times. Since purchasing the boat I have traveled from Curacao to Cartagena, Columbia; sailed the San Blas islands to the Panama Canal, .and to Bocas del Toro in Panama. Just before the pandemic started in Jan.2020, I moved the boat to Rio Dulce, Guatemala. It was a great sailing trip, with the opportunity to stop at most of the islands along the way (San Andres, Providencia, and the Bay Islands of Honduras). From there it was on to Guatemala and up the Rio Dulice river to Izabel, where I plan to make my home port for the next few years. For the 2022–2023 sailing season I will be headed to Belize and the island Cays, and possibly the Bay Islands, Honduras. So come join me as a crew for an unforgettable sailing experience, and live the dream. Capt. Steve

All you need is the time! The trips this year are relatively short, and I can teach you how to stand watch at the Helm, safe anchoring, plotting and following a course, as along you are eager to learn.
