Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Hi, I'm Manuel!
After an Atlantic loop in 2016/17 and 2019, I sold my old boat, a Boreal 44, during the pandemic.
A couple of years later I decided to have a new 60ft sailboat built at KMY in the Netherlands. In June this year construction will be finished and we will go on a 6-8 week long trip through the North and Baltic sea.
I am looking for amazing people to come join me and my girlfriend Sofia for ideally the entire time to spend a great summer!

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

usually cleanvery safeshare experiencevisit remote placesseek adventurefulfill a dream

The boat is a custom designed 60ft aluminium centreboard expedition sailboat, currently being built at one of the world's most reputable yards, KM Yachtbuilders in the Netherlands.
In June 2025, the boat will be launched and we will set sail into the North and Baltic Sea for 6-8 weeks. The purpose of this trip is to explore England, Norway, Sweden, the Baltic Sea up to Finland and to test the boat.
We will do short hops and longer passages where possible, visiting many places and "shaking down" the boat.
At the end we will return to the yard for an "inspection" in August or September to then move on to Portugal in the early fall.
On the boat will be I, Manuel from Germany, my Portuguese girlfriend Sofia, old friends that have sailed with me before and new friends that I am hoping to find here.

What is expected of the crew

clean & tidyenthusiasticfit & healthyfriendlyorganisedrespectfulskilledtrustworthygood communicatoreager to learn & workopen mindedsense of humor

I am looking for trustworthy and reliable people that have actual sailing experience, ideally on bigger boats. In crew I like initiative and attention to detail, kindness and good humour.
Everybody participates in running the boat, shares watches, cooks and cleans and stuff like that.
There will be lazy moments, fantastic moments and hectic ones, hopefully you can cope with all of them.
Because the boat is new and there will inevitably be some mechanical and/or electrical problems, some expertise in these areas is appreciated.
