I am an owner and day sailor of a 26 ft sailboat. I am a former owner of a Catalina C-22. I grew up in a landlocked sailing family, traveling around the midwestern United States for windsurfing races. I have crewed for a week on a 30' wooden ship in the Florida Keys and for two weeks on a 53 ft Jeanneau on the Atlantic coast. I am interested in getting ASA 108 certification, Offshore Passagemaking; I completed ASA 101, the first prerequisite, and studied the material for 103, 104, and 114. As an active, lifelong learner, I enjoy outdoor adventure, from rock climbing to windsurfing, and I also enjoy digging into a good book.
Our family enjoys sailing and adventure; we are evaluating the live-aboard lifestyle, so any experience that my wife and I gain will help prepare us for the future.
