In 2012 I bought a Hallberg-Rassy 42E ketch in Greece. Sailed to Turkey for re-rigging and then across the Med.,then to Cape Verde, across the pond and to Colon, Panama and up the eastern Pacific cost. This was done with two souls on-board. Moved to British Columbia in 2014. All systems thoroughly checked out: new standing & running rigging; engine overhauled; new sails; etc.
I need crew to become familiar with the boat and crew. .Eventually, after COVID, we would want to take an extended sail to the S Pacific. Presently we are a crew of three, looking for a fourth.
I believe having a pleasant personality and being a quick study are more important than rank experience. Will setup for easy watches. I have 25-odd years sailing experience; am a mechanical engineer. She is a Hallberg-Rassy 42 ketch - a classic passage maker and is simply sweetness to sail.
In my distant youth I mountain climbed at a decent grade, conducted expeditions to Peruivan Andes, the Pamir (Kyrgyzstan/Tajikistan), China’s eastern Himalayan plateau, etc. Although such activities have been tight at times, we always tried to have fun, to maintain friendships. As a consulting engineer, I conducted a small R&D business for 35 years - again dealing with long hours and close friends. Those that I have sailed with - well chosen - have never failed to have repeat trips with me.
Do not contact unless you live in Canada ... given current border problems, etc.
Schedule ---
I would suggest an introductory conversation, possible meeting leading to a first boat outing ... sailing in BC waters with full crew will come in course of time.
