Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I have 50000+ miles as owner / skipper, of two very different boats, in the South Pacific, competent mechanical and electrical/electronic engineer, physics graduate, musician (elec jazz/rock guitar / piano), rather intolerant of idiots, appreciate good food, wine, music and intelligent conversation

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

comfortableluxuriousimmaculatevery safevery spaciousshare experiencevisit remote places

October 2024 Andrew the diver went underneath and found... NOTHING! ...no barnacles ....maybe it's just the cooler water.. we'll see. The Coppercoat is looking good !
800Ah of LiFePO4 batteries installed and working!

The yacht is a 2004 Amel Super Maramu 2000 Redline Hull #437, one of the last.
Redline means she has the 100hp engine, dual fuel filters, 13 batteries and a few other extras. She was the Amel demonstrator boat in Hyeres (then named Gourami) until Amel began the production of the '54 in 2005.
Fully equipped with multiple GPS, networked plotters, radar, watermaker, galley frig, salon freezer, salon frig/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, 7.5kVA genset- 220 VAC throughout, 600W solar panels - I ditched the wind generator last year, it was a pain and never produced much power.
Very comfortable and stable ship....accommodation in separate cabins, 2 heads with showers, 3 x heating / air con.
Water tight bulkheads, totally dry inside
She is a VERY strong, safe and well equipped boat...luxurious, my previous "super yacht" crew said...
We did Auckland to Raivavae, (that's going to French Polynesia the "wrong way") in May/June 2014, 2673 miles in 14 days...that's an average of170 miles/day...including 3 days 50+ gale, 12 hours hove to, so she's pretty quick.
2023 Fiji to Noumea run was 170–180 miles/day 4 days almost to the hour....
Our cruising ground is the South Pacific.
