Hi folks. I'm currently on the island of Java, Indonesia. Slowly making my way towards Japan, travelling over land and sea. I'm looking to join a boat heading towards Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand. I will be moving towards Thailand over the next few weeks regardless of whether I can find a yacht (riding and ferries), but hope to crew instead!
Sailing experience: I've completed the RYA Competent Crew course (5-day liveaboard) and have some experience sailing small dinghies. I'm eager to continue learning.
Rigging knowledge: I work as a rigger, and while it's not specifically for boating, I have a knowledge of rigging concepts. On my comp crew course I even fixed a few loose nuts - including one that was holding the boom to the mast. I'm travelling by bike at the moment, so I understand the necessity of keeping everything functional. (And yes, the bike has to come too!)
I'm fit, healthy, and ready to get involved with any tasks on board that need doing, including watches, helping with manoeuvres, cooking, cleaning, and maintenance.
I'm easy to get along with and love working as part of a team. Outside of sailing, I enjoy playing music and improving my skills in different areas including physical skills (riding bikes, skiing etc), and learning languages.
I'd love the chance to join a crew, learn from experienced sailors and contribute in any way that I can. If you or anyone you know might have a spot on board, I'd love to have a chat.
Thanks, Neeson.
