I am 36 years old, and a skilled craftsman in a variety of fields. Having gone through the traditional German carpentry school, my main focus is on all kinds of woodworking. However, I also have experience in metal works and electrics (and some electronics) repair and soldering.
For the past 5 years I have been working as a project manager in a Landscape Architecture firm. I quit my job to finally fulfill my dream of travelling across the Atlantic by boat.
I joined SV Tenacious, a three-masted barque of over 200 feet, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and have been working onboard for 7 weeks both as a bosun´s mate/deckhand and as engineering assistant. We sailed around the Canary Islands, then went on to cross the Atlantic, sailing for 21 days exactly from Tenerife to Bequia. We sailed to Dominica, Antigua, and then Guadelopue, where I left the ship, having logged more than 3500 nm on her. Afterwards I went from Martinique to Guatemala on a 37ft cutter with a total of 4 on board. The trip of over 1600 nm took us 18 days due to a total absence of wind on some days.
