I have always loved being in, on or at least near the water. However, I did not grow up sailing except for the occasional time on a sunfish or day sailor type of boat. However, I did get more into sailing in my 20s, and then with a partner who had a Horseman trimaran that we used to sail every weekend up or down the coast from Boston, and week long trips as well. After moving to Portsmouth, NH I got involved in some J24 & PHRF racing, but now mainly enjoy cruising, which I did for years here as well either downeast or to the Cape area. I don’t have any specific certifications or specific skill set to list, but have managed to learn a lot experientially by sailing with many very experienced people, some of whom were charter boat captains at one time. I’ve always wanted to explore different places in the world via sailing, and right now I am in a position where I can take off for whatever time I want. My first time sailing out of New England was in the I've Virgin Islands. After that, I spent 6 months in 2015 sailing in the western caribbean countries (Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Cuba) and then sailing in Mexico, Belize and ending up at Rio Dulce in Guatemala for hurricane season. In 2016, I sailed from Guatemala to Honduras and Panama, and then flew to Buenos Aires for a trip around Cape Horn. Unfortunately that trip was postponed. I then sailed in Portugal & Greece, followed by a trip from Seattle up the coast of British Columbia. I spent a month sailing in the Bahamas, and just recently visited the eastern Caribbean islands, but only got to sail a few days there. At some point I would like to sail in the south pacific, southeast Asia, Greek & Turkish islands, or other Mediterranean areas.
