... never counted my "miles" ... or seas ... or countries ... or people ...
but boats and the sea have been in my life since a long time and are very important to me. Through circumstances I am no owner anymore.
From Dec 2008-April 2009 I had a crew position on Mexico's west coast, after that a position in the Caribbean on a 46' catamaran, which ended mid December 2012. We did a lot of charter.
Then I worked as a canvas maker in a sail loft in Carriacou/Caribbean. there I lived on a 45' motor vessel of a friend of mine for 3 years, including all the necessary maintenance. I used the boat from time to time single handed or crewed other boats.
I am a former Sports- and English teacher, have done charter in the Caribbean, before 2008: crossed the Atlantic, have restored my own wooden boats (40' and 46') single-handed from keel to mast top. I am a passionate of nature, animals, film/photography(underwater as well)/writing, a western riding instructor, a certified massage therapist, a good and imaginary cook. I'm healthy again (had parotid carcinoma in 2014/15), have now a paralyzed right face and no right ear anymore, all of which is a bit hindering, but only a tiny bit. This whole experience of having had cancer made me even more aware of how important it is to LIVE life and not only observe life.
I am Padi certified, but have no idea how diving would be now with my 'new handicap' - would love to give it a shot.
All together I am a down to earth - head in the moon person who loves to laugh ....
I'm now living in Southern France...
