I am a professional airline pilot. I was a US Navy pilot and has some shipboard experience in the Med, Caribbean and Atlantic. I’ve owned/own and operated both motorboats (less than 30’) and sailboats (under 25’). I have extensive experience in navigation, communications and radar.
My schedule is very flexible. I can be available for up to a month. I can provide my own airline travel for free within the US and for nearly free outside US.
I recently crewed on a 7 day trip on an Island Packet from Stuart, Florida to Panama City Beach in challenging weather and sea states. I am an experienced watch stander and have extensive experience in navigating the Intracoastal Waterway. I am very mechanically inclined and proficient in problem solving (especially in challenging environments/situations).
I am very active and healthy. I enjoy kayaking (completed Yukon River Quest 400+ mile race), paddle boarding, Scuba, biking, fishing and flying. I travel frequently and enjoy the experience/adventure of exploring new destinations. In addition to my fluency in English, I have some skill in Spanish and am in the process of learning French. I have dual citizenship: US and Irish.
I am well read and can hold my own in almost any conversation or social situation. I am not political or particularly religious.
I am a good cook and happy to share in the cooking duties between watches (although not interested in an onboard position as a cook).
I enjoy a glass of wine, beer or cocktail (in moderation). I do not smoke or use drugs but have no issue with recreational drug use.
