Looking ahead, my aspirations involve continued growth within the maritime industry, where I aim to work towards my RYA Day Skipper qualification in the near future and Yachtmaster further on. While I have work experience in a kitchen, I would also like to develop my culinary skills through courses that will expose me to a wider variety of cooking. In the long term I would be interested in a PADI license and in order to be able to explore even more of this world.
With a wealth of experiences that have cultivated competence, adaptability, and resourcefulness, I have driven a wide range of skills—from renovation and car repairs to sustaining self-sufficiency during long outdoor treks. Equally, I derive immense satisfaction from creating solutions, whether they manifest as social cohesion within a team or the tangible resolution of physical challenges.
I am proficient in English and conversational in French and also have a foundational understanding of basic German and Spanish. I have worked as an interpreter in a military and maritime environment and have a formal NATO proficiency qualification in French. From this background as well, I have developed extensive skills in first aid and VHF radio communications.
In my spare time I am usually spending time with my family (usually hiking in the rain) in North Wales, fitting in renovation projects or travelling. But I equally enjoy fishing, which I find deceptively hard, as well as reading and listening to new stories.
