Dear Shipmates

Introduction

We are a Solent based club focused on milebuilding. We sail just about every week (weather & crew numbers permitting) - all year long. We have operated for over a decade bringing safe, informed instruction and adventure to a wide range of enthusiasts. The club is remarkably cost-effective. Members who average one day-sail per week incur a cost rather less than half that of a five day training course - day for day.

Much of our sailing is weekend day-sailing - that is to say we return to base each evening. This suits busy club members with a crowded personal schedule.
We also take occasional weekend trips away starting on Friday evening and finishing on Sunday afternoon. An opportunity to visit other marinas, have a meal out and generally enjoy the Yottie life - and again easy to incorporate into a busy life without impacting annual leave.
A couple of times a year we go off for a few days - usually toward the West Country to stretch our legs and enjoy a more in-depth passage planning / passage making experience.
This year we visited the Mediterranean for a week away (we chartered - we didn't sail there...), we plan to go again this autumn.

We are structured as a club and we have fees. Membership is £225 per month with very modest daily sailing charges starting at £15 for a day-sail. For that commitment you get a lot of regular no-hassle sailing and nice folks to sail with.

Our mission is to help sailors to a point where they are both competent and confident enough to skipper a boat. Many of our members have moved on to flotilla holidays or boat ownership, some acquiring the Yachmaster qualification along the way.

If you would like to know more please get in touch - we have a website with more details and are always happy to chat on the phone too.

Our Bavaria 38 is well maintained and comfortable with life jackets and wet weather gear for crew. We have a recent set of quality sails - and the kettle works particularly well!

The club is a broad church as far as crew are concerned. We do expect club members to 'go with the flow' and pull together. It isn't however a place for people dealing with life's slings and arrows - first get yourself sorted and then join - contribute and enjoy :)
