Dear Shipmates

Having just returned from a big sailing trip I am eager to get back on the water and continue learning.

From July 2023 until January 2024 I crewed on sailing vessels in the; North Sea, Irish Sea, Bay of Biscay and Atlantic Ocean. In total crossing just under 6,000NM.

My longest passages were;
Cape Verde > Suriname (Atlantic Crossing), 16 days
A Coruña > Maderia, 7 days
Canary Islands > Cape Verde, 8 days

During the passages I was helming, trimming sails, keeping watch, sorting out the lines and fenders for docking, cooking and cleaning, all the normal crew jobs. Most of my learning was on a 42ft monohull with inmast furling so I feel confident with this system. I also crewed on smaller monohulls (around 11m) with slab reefing but would like to gain more experience with this system to feel confident with it.

My priority is to continue my learning through joining boats doing day or short passages around or promptly returning to the UK. I hope to meet Captains who are looking for a crew member eager to participate in the sailing. Even better if they are keen to share their knowledge!

Equally important is that we enjoy the sail and feel well and safe with eachother.
