Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Ahoy-
I look forward to meeting the right crew to accompany my partner and me from Vanuatu to New Caledonia and on to Australia . We are currently sailing in Vanuatu and will be continuing on the 5 year circumnavigation from here the first week of October. The plan for 2024 is to sail to New Caledonia before sailing to Australia.

I am looking to add additional crew member or two to join my partner and me for these passages which has been such an enjoyable experience. I have had several couples as crew with me for several months on various passages enriching the sailing experience tremendously.

We are active and enjoy swimming, diving, biking, hiking, paddle boarding and exploring this amazing world. We look forward to sharing this experience.

If you are interested in joining and you if you feel aligned with the description provided; I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers!

Life is certainly the journey and not the destination; but there is no reason the journey can’t be and amazing one to fantastic destinations!! This has been a prime motivation for my planned circumnavigation. I have done many improvements to the 2019 Saba 50 to best prepare her for our adventure. She is a 5 stateroom, 5 head version with new solar, lithium, satellite, all electric appliances, upholstery, dinghy, outboard and amenities geared for the journey. She is very comfortable and she sails quite well, but we won’t be breaking any speed records.

My circumnavigation sailing started in 2022 from BVI to Bermuda and on to Newport, Ri where I sailed the New England waters in summer 2022. Then I sailed solo from there down the east coast to Florida to end the year. In 2023 I sailed to the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Cartagena, San Blas to the canal. In April I went through the canal then sailing from Panama to French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, Niue, Tonga, New Zealand and now Fiji. My intent is for an additional 5-6 year circumnavigation with the last 2 years or so in the Med where I have sailed previously. I will stop periodically to visit family and friends back home.

I’m an easy going father of 3 grown children with both my daughters graduated from university and married and my son is in his PHD studies at Columbia. I am very close with each of my children and my daughters’ spouses. I was married for 23 years and until my wife left me 13 years ago. At that time, I got back into sailing and since then I have been sailing internationally quite extensively.

I am a fit, healthy and active gentleman who loves life. I love to laugh and am not into drama.

I don’t smoke or partake in illicit drugs, nor do I drink under passage. I do enjoy a great sundowner and wine or an IPA with dinner and seek crew that is comfortable with these traits. I love music and have played music my whole life. I have an acoustic bass on board and it has been great playing music with friends and other sailors along the way.

If any or all of this sounds for you; we welcome hearing from you. All the best to you and to your sailing!

I enjoy most water activities including swimming, snorkeling, PADI open water diving (certified in Australia in my 20's), SUP, surfing (mostly body surfing now), and wind surfing. I have SUPs and scuba gear on board. I also enjoy biking and have 2 e-bikes on board for shore exploration.
