Hello, I recently retired in late forties and seeking occasional sailing trips to learn new sailing skills, become more confident on longer passages, and tick off adventures; but mostly to tell stories later on. I apologize if this starts to sound like a dating site advertisement, but describing one's self in detail I believe is one of Dante's circles of hell.
I have owned 3 sailboats in my life ranging from 14 foot sunfish to 27 foot day sailers. Other than casual summer runabouts and sailing a 17 foot sloop out of New England, I started in earnest in mid-twenties with a 27 foot Catalina I sailed in and around San Francisco for a number of years. Then bought a MacGregor and sailed around Annapolis and Chesapeake for about 5-6 years. After fathering 2 wonderful boys got back into weekly racing on the Chesapeake going on 9 years now where I help prep and close the boat for racing, trim sails, provide strategy to course selections, and act as rail meat :) . Helped sail a 44 foot Nauticat in and around Georgetown and the Exumas. I have also helped transit a Hans Christian 38 from Chespeake City MD to Georgetown Island ME, transiting 2 canaIs and some ocean time. I am generally fit, always seek to learn new things, enjoy cooking, hard working on tasks, medium to good swimmer, good conversationalist (although wife would tend to disagree), and I never - ever have any sarcastic comments to share - ever.
