Hi!
Firstly and foremost I love sailing and now I'm retired, I am free to sail more often and for longer periods of time. Fortunately, I have never been sea sick and although I have no formal training or qualifications, I have gained lots of practical experience and I am capable and very willing to learn and help out wherever I can. I am a confident swimmer, I love to snorkel and I love beautiful beaches. Over the last few years I've done a few sailing trips around Europe and Antigua. In January/February 2020 I sailed across the Atlantic for the first time as part of a crew of 4 aboard an Oyster 435. An amazing experience! After sailing in the Caribbean for a while, I flew to Georgetown in the Bahamas to join a different yacht, sailing leisurely through the Exumas to the Abacos. There I unfortunately decided to cut my trip short due to the current world situation and fly home to the UK while it was still possible to do so.
In November 2020, I managed to escape the doom and gloom in the UK and headed once again for the Exumas. I spent 6 glorious weeks, this time on a catamaran, at various anchorages off Stocking Island near Georgetown. From Nov 2021 until February 2022 I had a wonderful time sailing in the Caribbean from Grenada up to Antigua. Then I spent a month sailing in the Ionian May/June 22 and again in May/June 2023. In early 2023, I spent several months in and around Grenada and am currently back in Woburn, hoping to find a boat leaving soon to explore more of the Caribbean. I seem to have been sucked into the beautiful, friendly lifestyle of Hog Island. But I would like to be able to visit some of the many other beautiful places that I didn't get a chance to visit on my previous trips.
I am available from now until mid April 2024, when I have a return flight booked from Grenada back to the UK.
I have both British and US citizenship, so traveling to or via the States does not present a problem.
