Before leaving Alaska, I worked in commercial fishing for ten years across the state from Bering Sea Crabbing to Cook Inlet Gillnetting to Prince William Sound Seining, eventually settling in Sitka where there was more year-round fishing. In 2013, I acquired my first commercial boat - a 32’ Stensland Sternpicker. In 2015, I upgraded to a 36’ Wesley, which I did a massive mechanical and fiberglass overhaul on before crossing the Gulf of Alaska back to Southeast and fishing all over Southeast Alaska with it. In 2017, I also purchased a 48’ Gulf Troller as an investment which I used for pleasure before reselling the next year.
In 2015, I started sailing with friends in Alaska and fell in love with it. The first sailboat I bought was a 24’ S&S Dolphin. In 2017 I upgraded to a 30’ Cascade which I spent years exploring the Pacific Northwest with.
In 2020, I was hired as captain on a Voyage 440 which we took from Panama to French Polynesia before Covid shut down the trip. The boat was hauled out and I was hired to deliver a Gunboat 66 from Tahiti back to San Francisco, which I ended up running as captain for two years before the boat was sold. I’ve been primarily focusing on deliveries now but am open to full-time positions as well on the right vessel.
