I love sailing!
I’m currently in Hobart working as a 4th engineer on a patrol boat.
I'm looking for friends sail with on weekends or a trip late November.
I'm a master 5 with med2, and I have my competent crew + day skipper. I have commercial experience sailing - I can tack, reef, man the helm during a strong breeze, hoist and furl sails, moor, do watch shifts, detail, clean and help with boat maintenance. I am eager to improve all of my skills. I’d like to learn restoration.
I freelance as delivery crew/deckhand for charter. I have done 5 long crossings, including sailing the Bight from Bussleton to Hobart.
I'm looking for relaxed but passionate crew with a good sense of interpersonal skills. I like to stay quiet in the morning, but if we need to change the sails I'll be first deck with a smile across my face!
I am mature, responsible, and a very hard worker. I consider myself driven and I constantly strive to improve myself through self observation and constructive feedback.
Making my guests and crew happy through good service and excellent food is a true source of pleasure and satisfaction for me. This discovery is the reason I have entered the yachting industry in a professional sense. I specialise in cooking for coeliac disease and other special needs.
More about me:
STCW 10 and ENG1, Competent crew, VHF and Day Skipper. (Plus other cooking and hospitality qualifications)
I’ve done 3 Atlantic crossings as chef and watch keeper and also completed Bussleton (WA - near Perth) to Hobart (TAS). I’ve also done passage plans for trips up the east coast of Australia and from France to Africa.
I am a professional English teacher and I can teach English or A2 Italian.
I worked for 6 years as a pool lifeguard and enjoy emergency response.
I like to read and study, and I rarely get bored.
I am strong for my size and I have excellent cardio fitness.
I will respect your boat and your space.
