My motivation and reasons to crew on a boat

My husband and I have been together since high school (2002) & we married in 2006. We both work very hard , but we love to travel and we especially love anything that involves water. In 2019 we went sailing for the first time in the BVI’s on a 40ft Bavaria with Thane Paulsen (captain of Asylum at the time but now he charters a new boat in the USVI’s ) & he was amazing with showing us the basics. We were immediately hooked on sailing. In February 2020 (just before the madness of COVID) we got our ASA 101 & 103 certifications with a company called “Sailing Virgins” & it was the best experience! We had 8 of us from all different countries on a monohaul for a week & couldn’t have asked for a better group ( Captain from Ireland, Skipper from South Africa, photographer from Scotland, students from Nova Scotia, Toronto, & 3 of us from United States). In 2020 we went to the USVI’s with “Sailing Virgins” again and got our ASA 104 & 114 certifications & again another amazing experience exploring different anchorages that we had never been. We never had any children, we like kids just not in our plans. We want to continue exploring the world.
