Ahoy! I now have only small windows available for recreational (w/easy/cheap travel to/from) cruising! So while my profiles mainly seeks paid arrangements, I am open to unpaid; on rare occasions; like yours, Jeff & Christopher! w/in my passions (sailing/cooking) w/a seasoned, sail captain; as my work schedule is now less flex. . .I have limited availability for longer-term, but would love to join your vessel as qualified 1st mate crew/galleymate for your Atlantic transit. . .if we can arrange dates!! So thanks for considering me. . .and forecasting near future dates. . .My June/July2014 crossing was the official start of an adventurous sailing season/life where I introduced the international cruising world to the “for fee” talents of a passionate sailing/cooking, skipper-capable crew. . .where my talents were lauded in Cruising World by our on-board teen author. . .I have since sailed quite a few excursions, assisted w/a few deliveries in/across the Med and along BOTH Atlantic coasts; including the Hudson River to the ICW in FLA; plying my new trade: skipper-capable competent crew/organizational-wiz/gourmet galleymate! So, when aboard your vessel, in crewing capacity; meal/menu preparations and/or cooking; as well as shipshape organizational efforts, are inherent benefits, as the outing/vessel allows. I would consider a few weeks sail outing; as a recreational/vaca outing for myself; with prospect for future paid arrangements. . .as I can either crew and/or consult remotely to assist w/charter/crew, and food preferences; to design a provisioning plan and prepare your vessel (once located in the Chesapeake region, for charter or rally/regatta/race.) And can be available, to schedule for future sails, where you may need skipper/1st mate capable/cooking crew: US Atlantic coast/Carib/other (for negotiated fee and monetary tips!!) I so look forward to sharing fair winds and wicked foods; or wicked winds and fine food w/you and your sailing mates!! Grazie! kathl
