Finished 4 year DoD US Navy contract in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, USA. Travel extensively in the South Pacific with primary focus of Tahiti, Fr Polynesia, New Zealand, Cook Islands and Samoa. Previous extensive Florida, Georgia, Bahamas and USVI.
Previously finished up a contract going over 3,200NM on a Research Vessel non-stop (no refuel, no resupply and did all the engineering mechancial as well as captain & navigator) deploying scientific bouys along the Pacific Equator.. Great success! Now looking for work as contract is finished.
I take great pride as captain / crew member as both a leader and a member to achieve customer satisfaction. Currently booking customers while captain & engineer on charters throughout the South Pacific.
I look to Captain or Crew another available yachts in off season with open mind to relocation opportunities. My wife from Tahiti is a chef and natural entertainer and has worked well as a crew in the past.
My focus is on vessel responsibility and the areas of customer service and satisfying the needs of the guests while rewarding and recognizing valued crew effort in reaching crew goals.
My current position of Master Captain (100 ton with sailing and towing endorsements) with experience in pleasure yachts, dolphin sightseeing cruises, pilot boat captain and Sea Tow training to positions varying from culinary, deck crew, engineering mechanics, and racing sailboat expertise. I am also fully NAUI SCUBA certified.
I have previously operated a number of vessels involved in the travel / hospitality / tourism industry. Prior to developing my maritime career, I developed resorts in the Southeast US and Alaska with great success.
My Long Term plans include developing a Polynesian Show / Dinner Cruise.
In a past annual St John USVI sailboat race, I came in fourth after 3 professionally funded J boats. The race was a "pursuit race" where in order to finish about the same time, the sailboats were started on a handicap determined by length; so it was a real show stopper for everyone while I took over on the last leg as the rest of the pack finished moments behind.
In high school, I built cruising trimarans and catamarans and can be considered an expert with mono & multi hulls.
Understandably, my efforts to market past successes through non-personal correspondence are limiting and look forward to the opportunity to have a conversation in person to underscore our "Can Do" approach for achievement of goals.
I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Craig
