Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Ahoy future crew!

I have been sailing for almost two decades. After buying a smaller boat to learn on I am now on my forever boat which I am happy to share with the right people. I spent 25 years in a career that afforded me the opportunity to travel a lot, and since retiring early I have kept up that lifestyle. In addition to sailing solo from Toronto (Canada) down to the Bahamas for a year, I have done a year of living off the grid in a camper van exploring the southern USA.

I am a RYA Yachtmaster (Offshore), a certified sailing instructor, and qualified medical first responder. I have a small travel companion (15 pound puppy) who enjoys belly rubs while sailing downwind. Bonus, I am 400 day Duolingo Spanish streak! Haha

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

The boat is a 2004 Beneteau 423 (owner’s version), so it has two separate cabins and two heads. The salon table converts to a comfortable queen size bed, so I can accommodate at least three people in separate births. I have all of the SAFETY GEAR to make an ocean crossing, including EPIRB and LIFERAFT.

My plan as of May 2022 is to sail the Great Lakes in Canada for the summer, and then make my way down south including a period of time enjoying the Chesapeake and the Annapolis boat show. From there, we will hop down the eastern seaboard and eventually make it the Bahamas for the winter. From there, the world is our oyster!
